Building on the experience of our Australian team, we now have property securities specialists based in the UK, US and Australia.

First State has full responsibility for investment management decisions including stock selection and portfolio construction. However in addition to our internal resource we have an exclusive agreement with Colliers International, one of the world’s leading commercial real estate organisations.

First State's property securities team is headed up by Andrew Nicholas.

Andrew Nicholas, Head of Property Securities

Andrew joined First State Investments in April 2006 as a Senior Portfolio Manager, with 18 years of industry experience.

Before joining First State, Andrew worked with UBS Global Asset Management as a Portfolio Manager for the Property Securities Fund which invests in listed property in the Australian equity market. Prior to this, Andrew worked at Deutsche Bank for 10 years in a number of roles including Head of Equity Research and Deputy Head of Asian Equity Research. For many years Andrew was the number one rated Developers and Contractors analyst. His experience also includes coverage of a vast number of stocks and industries, mostly property and asset related.
